The advances of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again managed to open yesterday night with Singham Again getting the edge in screen share and both advances look to be good with Singham Again playing catch up as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opened earlier at most places. Both films have an interest but to what level it is difficult to tell with advances opening this way and how will Diwali play out in terms of Puja being over two days. The key chain here for advances will be Cinepolis as that is the one where both films started at the same time.

Eventually when it all settles on Friday Singham Again should come out the bigger film in terms of initial but Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will give it a battle especially in certain circuits like East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore. The real surprise can be CI where Singham Again should be well ahead but that may not be the case as Bhool Bhuliyaa 3 has seen strong advances in the main centres though you have to treat it with a pinch of salt as its very early.

They key for Singham Again will be Maharastra as it has a huge fan base here and also Rohit Shetty films are very strong so here it has to have a big lead over Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The trailers of both films were pretty good but have been let down by music which should have much much better. The title song of Singham Again may help in single screens of places like Bihar and CP Berar but overall music has not helped.

It remains to be seen which film scores better and where but the industry as a whole needs a 200 crore nett three day weekend at least however it is shared out and that is a minimum. The biggest three day weekend ever with a Friday release was around 190 crore nett last year with Animal and Sam Bahadur so a 200 crore nett here on Diwali weekend should not be much of a big deal if the films have merit.
