Singham Again has taken a good opening at the box office though its not commensurate with the budget and size of the film and more importantly the collections are behind Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in the early exchanges when it should have been ahead or actually HAD to be ahead. The real bright spot for the film is Gujarat where it is way ahead of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 despite starting advances late but the advances surged in the circuit yesterday (Thursday).

The film had a different trailer as it showed the faces in the film rather than the content of the film and there were parts in the trailer which looked good but it was to cut the highlight the faces and in real terms it is only Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar who are fully establised and liked out of the male stars on show so that multi star thing is not actually as strong as its made out to look.

The music also did not fire but that was expected but the real issue is the film is a huge franchise and that has not come into play as Bhool Bhuliayaa 3 has better opening collections which should not happen. Maybe the film should have been made out be around Ajay Devgn and Bajirao Singham as this probably is the biggest brand in the franchise but the way its done to make the film look bigger when the real brand of the franchise is a bit sidelined.

Still its not as if the film has not opened at all and Gujarat which is an extended holiday for many days is on side of Singham Again and the film can make ground on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 if it has the merits and there is a long open road ahead to take advantage off. 

The issue for the film is that it has to do a far bigger number than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 as Singham Again has a huge budget and one huge hurdle facing the film is that Rohit Shetty films have a huge fan base in Maharashtra but that area has just not been doing the numbers like pre pandemic and this is a general issue rather than a film issue especially for the original Hindi films.

Here the case looks that Singham Again will beat Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in Maharashtra but collections are not at that huge level you would expect from a Rohit Shetty film and Singham brand. One final point is that there are no buys and discounted ticket rates for this film so the box office is more or less clean at this point of time.
