Chhaava has opened very well at the box office with Mumbai circuit seeing excellent collections and other places being good to decent. The film is also helped by Valentines Day and even though its not a Valentines Day type of film there is always a larger audience out there on this day which pushes collections.

There is also the controversy of block bookings which the makers say are group bookings mainly in Maharashtra so these things put a cloud on the film as if its x amount the word in the industry is its x times 5 but eventually the content will speak and the film is sustaining on this alone. Group bookings are when shows have been taken out by someone for a whole group. This was seen with films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story.

Either way block bookings or group bookings it makes comparsions futile with other films as most other dont have this and comparisons are always best like for like.  The plus side is the film had a good trailer and the film was going to get an opening which would be good for a film in this zone. In fact if these bookings were not there it may have turned out to be a huge positive as the film would have put up a good number without them and the first big positive of the year and now actually the number will be bigger but the film have a clould hanging till it stands on its own feet.

The film could have done with better music as the the songs were the weakest units. It will be an interesting weekend as no doubt the opening day will put up a excellent number but it will be about the holds especially in Mumbai circuit. If this circuits holds without any aid then no doubt the film is going to do well in the long run.
