War 2 collected 28 crore nett apprx on day one in Hindi which is an average opening for the film and well short of expectations. The contributions from mass pockets and single screens are not what they should be for an action film like this and on top its a sequel. There are circuits which have done less than Saiyaara on the first day.

The film has just not been able to gather any momentum from when the advances opened. The hope was maybe the first day can be different but even then the masses have not really come. Its actually like the mass audience has just not given the film a chance and not just been interested. There will be a jump on a Republic Day but it may not be sort required after an opening like this.

The holiday period will come as saviour as collections will at least go to a higher level but that should not really be happening as a film like this should be getting an opening day up on the board and should not been needing holidays for some sort of recovery. The industry has seen a good period for the last few months and this one is a bit of a downer that a potential blockbuster film sees only a fair first day.

The film has done better in South as the all India collections in all versions will go above 50 crore nett and maybe to 52-53 crore nett but the box office is all about Hindi and that is well short of expectations. The hindi version is sure to dominated from day two onward.

War 2 had the dubbed film Coolie 2 for competition and that has collected around 4.25 crore nett which is reasonable but it has to go on from here which will be tough. The film has scored very well in South with Tamil Nadu leading the way.
