Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga took a dull opening of 5-7.5% which is pretty much on the expected lines. The film is named after a HIT song from a flop film 1942 - A Love Story. The film is very niche and basically been made due to the recovery from digital and satellite which is 24-25 crore so this ensures the film wont be a big financial burden on the makers but the audience is a different kettle of fish and they will not be easily pleased.

The theme of the film will have very few takers with only some section of the metro audience coming for the film. The film has no face value or stars so that is a plus as a film like this with stars could be asking for big trouble.

The banner Vinod Chopra Films and Anil Kapoor combination sent the 90's audience to sleep with two duds like Parinda (1989) and 1942 - A Love Story (1994) and it remains to be seen if results are any different in 2019.

There will be a three way fight at the box office to be the top film with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Manikarnika and Uri - The Surgical Strike. Manikarnika had a negative response from the audience generally at a ground level though the business held up post Monday but the Delhi / UP collections cracked on the eighth day which will mean a drop in collections as that was the best circuit.

Uri - The Surgical Strike is super strong on its fourth Friday and will give the new release and Manikarnika a good fight and could turn out to be the top film.
