Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania grossed 9 crore nett approx on day one which was good especially as some places were affected by Ramadan and other places by torrential rain. 

The opening day is the seventh best of 2014 after Jai Ho, Ek Villian, Gunday, 2 States, Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and Humshakals but was the best ever for a Varun Dhawan starrer beating Student Of The Year (7.52 crore nett) and Main Tera Hero (6.13 crore nett). Delhi city was excellent as although the film put up average numbers in UP it sill came out with a 2 crore nett total for the Delhi/UP circuit.
