Haunted Echoes of the Past has taken a fair start despite the film not gettng a strong release especially in the national chains as a case against the maker Vikram Bhatt had some sort of affect on the national chains release. Still despite this the film has opened far better than films like Main Vaapus  Aaunga, Bharat Bhaagya Vidhaata and Governer. There was also Heer Sara which is a total non starter.

Haunted Echoes of the Past is a franchise film as Haunted 3D released in 2011 proved to be a HIT film doing business around 26 crore nett with very good figures in Mumbai, CPCI and West Bengal. The horror factor will be at play here and whatever number it comes out with today it will be less than it could have been if the film had a release at the national chains that it deserved.

Main Vaapus Aaunga is very dull considering its costs and with this sort of opening it hardly has a chance. The film offered little with a dull trailer but sometime back we had Ek Din which was high on costs and very low on content and ist going to be the same story here unless a miracle happens. This film got a good release in the national chains but its always about the film and not the release. Haunted Echoes Of The Past still finds an audience even if it does not quite get the right theatres.

The other two Bharat Bhaagya Vidhaata and Governer took a similar opening though the latter has better occupancy as it was being screened on very low rates. Its like that Bharat Bhaagya Vidhaata will eventually get betetr colelctions than Governer be it today or tomorrow when all is equal.

Its about Haunted Echoes of The Past to do something this week but the genre is front loaded so wont be easy. The shocker for the industry will be Main Vaapus Aaunga as there would have been higher expectations from the film but this was probably becasue of budget and names involved rather than units which have come. On the units its par for the course.
