Chehre had a slow start and this was pretty much expected because if Bell Bottom could not get going then there is not much you can expect from Chehre. The film has Emran hashmi who had some films opening pretty well a few years back but in the last few years his films have not been doing well.

The film would have found it hard in normal times though now when the market is struggling it is practically impossible for the film to find a theatrical audience. The difference in normal times is that the film would ahve released in Maharashtra and maybe it would have performed better in Maharashtra especially the bigger cities. Now the film is relying on Delhi  NCR, East Punjab and Gujarat which are the areas seeing best collections but in these areas these sort of films have very limited takers.

The Punjabi film Chal Mera Putt 2 has taken an excellent opening in East Punjab and is set to record a very good day. This film has waited since March 2020 for cinemas to open which is a credit to the makers and now the film is set to get the rewards it deserves. The censors have not helped its cause by not censoring the new film due to it having a few Pak artistes but it will still do very well.

The film was on course to being a HIT film when its run was stopped by the lockdown in March 2020. The film had put up 2.92 crore nett on the board at that time and now will start where it left off as the content had acceptance and the opening has come the second time round so there will be no stopping the film. The film has a 130 theatre release in East Punjab while Puaada a few weeks back opened on 51 theatres.

The film in March 2020 opened to 1.25 crore nett and this time may well cross the 75 lakh nett mark which will be phenomenal. Punjab is the most forward market in India at present as far as audience coming back is concerned as they have had HIT content already with Puaada and with this film going wider the market will become even more healthier. In Delhi city the film is easily ahead of Chehre in most cinemas where they are playing in the same theatres with four times the audience count in the morning shows
