KGF 2 broke the three day weekend with business of 141.50 crore nett beating the previous record of Bahubali - The Conclusion of 127 crore nett. There was the holiday advantage for KGF 2 but it was Thu-Sat and its without the Sunday so everything pretty much equals everything up.
The top two weekends are now films from the South and both these films have limited collections from the South so the collections are higher in fair value. It does not make good reading when the two top two films are from the South but in todays time branding makes a huge difference and both KGF2 and Bahubali - The Conclusion had this due to the first films being appreciated across the board.
If KGF 2 is smashing all records in the book there is also a big South film Raw (Beast) doing exactly the opposite of KGF 2. This basically means a big film with a hugely appreciated predecessor can smash all records but run of the mill will start to lose screenings even before the weekend is out. KGF 2 is the 8th 100 crore nett weekend and now 150 crore nett is the target. Four of the eight 100 crore nett weekends belong to Salman Khan starrers . The top ten weekends in the history of Hindi films in terms of nett collections are as follows.
1. KGF 2 - 1,41,50,00,000
2. Bahubali 2: The Conclusion - 1,27,28,00,000
