Ek Villain Returns saw a drop on Monday as it collected 2.75-3 crore nett which takes the film to around 25 crore nett in five days. The drop is on the wrong side of 50% as it needed to be more than 45-50% range. Obviously a 30-35% drop would have been great but that was never own as reports were so so and on top the genre does struggle to sustain unless content very strong.

The film is still doing reasonably well in pockets and should clock a first week total of around 30.50-31 crore nett and then its depending on where that second Friday lands. There is no major competition so if that second Friday can land up close to the Thursday it will get some decent second week business. If not then that will be it for the film.

More important then where the film goes is that is has eased a lot of pressure from the film industry showing a medium film without big names can still get a near 7 crore nett opening if the audience has some interest. The importance of these mid level films cant be be understated as they are the bread and butter and have to have interest among the audience for the industry to sustain. Whether the films run or not is down to merit but if you cant get a first day audience the merit does not even come into the picture as today recovery is much harder than before the pandemic unless its an extraordinary event like The Kashmir Files.  

The opening day business of the film was good enough to put the industry at ease but for the film itself recorded a decent weekend and now has to maintain decent collections over the weekdays to emerge a success. The collections of Ek Villain Returns till date are as follows.
