Bholaa had the 13th highest opening day post pandemic for original Hindi content. the film should have actually pushed towards the 11 crore nett mark but collections in Maharashtra and MP never came out as good as they should have been. Ajay Devgn starrers tend to do better in these pockets especially these types.

The holiday factor may have added around 1-1.50 crore nett to the film so fair value would probably be aroudn 9 crore nett for the film. There are films like Pathaan and Brahmastra proving openings can happen but it must be a visually appealing film which is worth coming to the theatres and backed up original HIT music.

The 10 crore nett mark has become a benchmark for a fair opening but to the industry this can only look fair when budgets are down. A 200 crore plus  budget (Tu Jhoothi) film opening 13.75 crore nett and a 150 crore plus budget (Bholaa) film opening 10.25 crore will not really give confidence but if it was 150 and 100 crore budgets respectively then these numbers start looking better.  This is the readjusting the industry has to go through and will do over the next year or so.
