The advances of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan started on Monday mainly in the non national multiplex chains and the response was good with like to like comparisons with Bholaa which were 250-300% better. Bholaa comparative being used as its last main release and targeting a similar mass audience. Its like if Bholaa sold ten tickets at a cinema on the day of advance opening for the first day then Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan has sold 25-30.

The advance of film also opened at the PVR chain in the afternoon though at a few select properties and here it was good also as 1k plus tickets were sold for the first day by the end of the day and most of the PVR properties had not even started advance. The full fledged advance of the film will start today and momentum must continue and it will be today that will give an idea where advances can go. It could have been better to hold off for a day or so more to get even faster momentum but with the film being an Eid holiday release the exhibitors would have been keen to get going.

The film will release on Friday and it is the last day before Eid so collections will get hit at many places but its about getting a good number on the board as collections will jump on Saturday as the Eid period starts. The film must get up to around 15 crore nett on day one as after that Eid will push the film to much higher numbers and a good weekend.

There is easily potential to do more but it is Pre Eid and also the film is not a huge scale high budget film and it is mainly being driven by the star power of Salman Khan and two songs which have done well. Star power has not worked like before the pandemic with many films with stars failing to go over the 10 crore nett mark and 15 crore nett being a dream. Here if Salman Khan can put up a near 20 crore nett number on pre Eid with this film then its pretty much like before the pandemic. The film has action but it also a bit of a family drama which can have limitations initially especially in the bigger multiplexes.

There has been a weak flow of releases this year and this will continue till June and the industry is in wait for that much needed HIT and its down to Salman Khan on Eid to do the trick.
