Adipurush has recorded an extraordinary first day with huge numbers in India and Overseas with the Hindi versions of the film looking at a 36-38 crore nett first day as mass markets run riot. The sort of numbers coming can even push the numbers as the film is out performing outside the bigger national chain cinemas be it non national multiplexes or single screens. 

These sort of numbers were simply not expected for the film as a week back you would have said it should get around 20 crore nett plus and when the advance ended a 30 crore nett number would be good but it has surpassed all expectations. All circuits have seen extraordinary business and are comfortably ahead of Brahmastra due to far stronger business in the mass centres. It is the third best opening for a film in Hindi post pandemic after Pathaan and KGF 2.

The film has scored heavily in Nizam / Andhra also with a likely 40 crore nett plus number in this circuit and if we take the Telugu version in Hindi circuits and the rest of South the film seems to be looking at around 90 crore nett day one in India and a gross of 110-112 crore. 

The performance in overseas is dominated by Telugu but surprisingly Hindi has also got numbers when it looked it would not do much. The final overseas numbers are still to come but a 140 crore worldwide day one is there for the film and this number can go to 150 crore when all the collections are rounded up tomorrow.

The box office has not been good post the pandemic but for films offering a spectacle in theatres the numbers are coming in eyes closed be it a Pathaan or KGF 2 or a Brahmastra and now Adipurush.
