Jawan had  a fantastic hold on Monday with collections dropping around 35% from Friday and this despite collections slowing down later on in the day as the big cricket match got going. The film is aided by better holds in the Hindi mass circuits like UP, CI, Bihar and Rajasthan where collections are just 50% lower from day one and 30% down from the Friday. These mass markets do tend to hold better on Monday.

These are the areas which could have performed better over the weekend while South which was extraordinary over the weekend has seen bigger drops which was expected. Still a circuit like Mysore was comfortably above the 2 crore nett mark which is unheard of for a Monday. This circuit is sure to beat the record of Pathaan which was pretty crazy and 30% more than any other film.

The film has collected 278 crore nett so far and is probably looking at first week collections looking in the 340-350 crore nett range depending on the falls over the next few days. The film is a BLOCKBUSTER and the second Friday will tell if the film will go towards the 500 crore nett mark. There is a high ratio of business coming from South so there could be some drops until the business comes to a more normal level here.  The collections of Jawan till now are as follows.

Thursday - 65,00,00,000 apprx

Friday - 46,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 67,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 70,50,00,000 apprx

Monday - 29,50,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 2,78,00,00,000 apprx
