Gadar 2 - The Katha Continues has emerged the highest nett grosser in East Punjab beating the numbers of Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion and it will end with a final business of 54 crore nett apprx. These are huge numbers especially if we compare with other releases post pandemic and even the bigger films pre pendemic but it could have got even higher numbers.

This is because the centres of Punjab (political) could have been higher. The Haryana side has smashed every record in the book but the Punjab cities have not been performing as they should post pandemic and Sunny Deol joining politics would not have helped. Eventually the Punjab (Political) cities have put up big numbers but the opening numbers could have been higher.

Also East Punjab has the capacity with huge multiplex presence so it does not have the capacity issues of other circuits which means the clash with Oh My God 2 is less of a factor here. The film would have lost 25-30 crore nett in Delhi / UP due to the clash but in East Punjab it would be just around 5 crore nett if even that.

East Punjab has very few single screens and barring a few they are mainly non collecting and not well kept cinemas but Gadar 2 managed to get people into these also as it smashed lifetime numbers in these in a matter of  days. A film like Gadar 2 could have gone higher in the circuit but the 54 crore nett number will be a huge task for anyone to beat until those Punjab cities go back or close to pre pandemic levels. Gadar - Ek Prem Katha (2001) smashed records by bigger margins but the film was also a superior product. The top ten films in East Punjab are as follows.
