Dunki collected  a fair 8.50 crore nett on its first Wednesday which takes the film to first week total of 141 crore nett plus. The extended weekend will short fall a little short of 150 crore nett. Overall its fair results for the film mainly due to the presence of Shahrukh Khan and the holiday period.  The film itself has not found many takers.

The film has under performed for a Shahrukh Khan starrer but the film is in New Years period and it still continue to put up some decent numbers till New Years day especially over the weekend when business in multiplexes jump. 

The film basically illustrates that the biggest stars that want numbers cant really go outside the action genre today and this is for every single star as pick up films miss the opening the numbers and post pandemic the question is there can films actually pick up from these 20-30 cr levels. Dunki was the test and it has failed on that probably due to content and its unlikely that there will be a film of this level in this genre for sometime.   .
