The advances of Kalki 2898 have opened well in Hindi with a similar response to RRR (Hindi). The advance of that film did not look good as there was the Bahubali factor behind it though it picked up steam a day before release. The advances seem better than Salaar which released in December and that film got to around 75 lakh in the multiplex chains.

RRR was over 1 lakh so the target here looks something between Salaar and RRR which is pretty good and would be third best of the year after Fighter and Shaitaan and this is a dubbed film though the huge scale of the film of trailer is far bigger than even a Fighter and gives it look of a huge film. The film also has more going for it in terms of face value for Hindi markets as has the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The last day before release will be crucial as to where the advance settles.

The advances of the film are huge in Nizam / Andhra and very good in Mysore which is down to the star power of Prabhas but because of the huge budget its going to about the Hindi version as that has to perform. The earlier films that did well in Hindi were generally made for South and managed to get an Hindi audience but today with these budgets there is an eye on the Hindi market and that may lead to films turning out which dont relate in the home market while the Hindi market is unpredictable as ever due to it being so many different states.

The film will face huge competition in Punjab and Delhi from Jatt And Juliet 2 which is sure to set new records for Punjabi films wherever it is release. The original film Jatt and Juliet released in 2012 took the box office for Punjabi films to a new high and it looks like history can be repeated.
