Jaat opened pretty well with good initial collections in some pockets. The film had censor issues which meant advances opened very late and it had only around one and a half days of advance. It was not much of advance as you would expect more momentum due to it opening so close to release but the initial response in current is better.

The film is totally driven by Sunny Deol who made a comeback with Gadar 2 a couple of years back but that was a sequel to Gadar which is a rare phenomenal film passing the test of time like very few before it due to its insane dialogues and hugely popular scenes so the test is actually the next release.

Jaat has rubber stamped that comeback as you could easily go back to collections seen before Gadar 2 but Jaat has opened well enough due to the presence of Sunny Deol and on top its all orgainic which has become important today with all the manufactured box office out there. The good opening for the film is in Rajasthan, UP, Bihar and CI and these circuits will come out with good numbers aided by the holiday for Mahaveer Jayanti..

There are are areas like Delhi NCR, East Punjab and Gujarat / Saurashtra which could have opened better and it remains to be seen how these go through the day. Delhi NCR and East Punjab could be due to that Telugu film feel in the trailer but if reports are on side it is sure to be good here eventually. The trailer of the film was good though the music was a letdown.

The negative in the trailer was probably there is no feel of human relationships in terms of the main protaganist and though the list of Sunny Deol hits are seen as action films it is the human relationships in them which made them work to that level. The target is probably to get into double digits or close though the advances did not suggest this number.
