Ek Din took a dull start though the holiday factor means the film should collect more than Loveyappa which was a similar film with a similar cast and from the same production house. The budget is much less for Loveyapa. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and that is probably the only plus for the film. The units be it the trailer or songs did not make any impact so it will get harder post the holiday. Not that the holiday will be any great shakes.
The Marathi film Raja Shivaji took a huge opening in Maharashtra and surrounding states like Karnataka and Nizam / Andhra. The biggest opening for a Marathi film is Sairaat which opened at around 3.75 crore nett and this will sail past. Sairaat was Marathi only and this film has a Hindi version which is fair also and opened better than the Hindi film Ek Din.
The Hindi version is mainly Maharashtra as well and the state will be record outstanding collections when the both combined with records for both versions for a Marathi film. The film has benefit of Maharashtra Day which is like a national holiday in Maharashtra.
Bhooth Bangla 2 is also getting the benefit of the holiday and should record good collections.
