The advance of 83 started today (Sunday) and has seen reasonable results but maybe not as strong as the industry expected as it sees 83 as a huge film probably due to the budget when in reality it is more of a word of mouth film for the audience

The first day saw advance open mainly at the national multiplex chains of PVR, Inox and Cinepolis and a few other properties. There were sales of around 15k which is reasonable and the film could be looking at a 10 crore nett advance before release. This would be the biggest advance for Hindi films post the pandemic as Sooryavanshi did not really open where the majority of advance sales come.  

The advance does not compare with last weeks Spiderman - No Way Home which sold over 1.25 lakh tickets in the same period. It is 12% of Spiderman - No Way Home on the first day of advance sales but the trend is different for Hindi films and before release it should reach 25-30% of Spiderman No Way Home.

The film is releasing a day before Christmas so it will get a good boost with on the day sales especially in the evenings at multiplexes but if the film could get to 15 crore nett plus in advance that actually would be a good result for the film.
