83 (Hindi) seems to have had a fair first day with collections in the 13-14 crore nett range as per early estimates. The film has had mixed fortunes as the metros have done well while other areas have not performed. The collections coming from metros make it look higher than 14 crore nett while  if we take the other side it looks under 13 crore nett.

A lot will depend where the final circuit totals settle in the morning especially Mumbai and Delhi / UP. The collections in places like Delhi city and Bangalore are actually not far off the first day numbers of Sooryavanshi released on a national holiday but at other centres in places like Gujarat and CP Berar the film has hardly done 20% of Sooryavanshi.

The collections outside the big metros are a killer for the film especially as its a big film and at places the dubbed Telugu film Pushpa was recording better collections. The smaller centres you can probably get away with but the likes of Ludhiana, Lucknow, Surat and Bhopal have to collect for a big film and this is the problem for 83.

The film has the Xmas period to help it out a little but it faces a huge battle from here and will need huge growth on Saturday which is possible due to the national holiday for Xmas and then there is Sunday. It still has chance of a good weekend but has a lot of work to do.
