Uunchai showed a good weekend trend with huge growth on Saturday which it consolidated on Sunday with solid growth. The weekend business is low but with a strong trend the film can start to make ground from the weekdays and into week two.  

The film has collected 9.25 crore nett over its first weekend which is low but not too bad considering the film was released on less than 500 screens. The film did get an increase of shows over the weekend and it will be showing on around 300 screens more on Monday than it was on Friday. The growth of the film is across all circuits which is a plus for the film and is a very good sign for the weekdays. At some cinemas the film was doing double and even treble of Saturday on Sunday though at metros growth was limited which is nearly always the case.

The trend of the film is great news for the industry but the fate of the film rests on what happens from here because eventually the film has not put up much of a number on the board yet. The weekdays are a must and they will hold going by advances on Monday but a lot depends at what level and the film has to continue to do well for a few weeks yet to really get a result.
