The two new releases opened on a Thursday due to a partial holiday but collections were lower than they should be. Fukrey 3 had a fair opening as a standalone film though not as good as a franchise film should with a holiday in many states. Fukrey Returns in 2017 took an 8 crore opening day and that looks a tough task for this installment unless the holiday really pushes collections in the evening and night shows.
The best collections for the film are likely to be in Delhi / UP. The franchise has seen best results in the North but the problem is Punjab is not the same market as it was pre pandemic and on top its not a holiday in either Punjab or Haryana. Mumbai and Gujrat is a holiday but here the value of this franchise is much less so the holiday is not really pushing collections much.
The Vaccine War had a dull start with limited collections despite it being a holiday. The film was coming from the maker of The Kashmir Files so there were some expectations from the film but this film is a different zone all together and it will need strong word of mouth with the target audience to get anywhere. The film holds little appeal outside the big city audience.
The winner this week could be Jawan unless the new releases pick up as it may give the new films a run for their money over the weekend despite being in week four.
