Devara (Hindi) has done well over its first weekend as it collects around 26.50 crore nett in its first weekend with markets like Odisha, Bihar and CPCI Rajasthan doing very well. Odisha is outstanding recording third best weekend of the year after Kalki 2898 AD and Stree 2. The growth over the weekend is also good considering a huge ratio of its business is coming from markets which are not dominated by the bigger national multiplexes.
The film could have done better in Mumbai circuit as the weekend collections are 7.75-8 crore nett and dubbed films from the South normally have better ratios as in both Maharashtra and Gujarat they have a better following here than most other circuits. There are two Marathi films doing well and that may have affected the film in Maharashtra.
The film should do well enough in mass circuits over the next few days due to the holiday period as Tuesday and Wednesday should see good collections. It remains to be seen how the film goes post the holiday period. It will have Joker 2 for competition but that will be for a different audience.
Devara has score big in its home market of Nizam / Andhra with collections in the 95 crore nett region while its all India number will be around 145 crore nett. Kalki 2898 Ad was 174 crore with a Sunday still to come. The film opened better than Kalki 2898 AD in Nizam / Andhra but the trend is weaker. The two day numbers of Devara (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 7,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 8,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 26,50,00,000 apprx
