Baby John had a poor weekend as it picked up only 26 crore nett over its five day weekend joining a long list of non performers on holidays post pandemic. The film got an opening day number in due to the holiday but it was all downhill from there. If its a holiday the film has to a good number and not so so especially if the film in this action genre.
The film came down to low levels on the second day itself and that was it for the film. The risk of a midweek release is always that if it the public rejects then it hardly survives till teh real weekend and this has happened here. The film started to lose shows after the first day with the benefeciary being a dubbed film from South called Marco.
This film was released last week and grossed 25 lakhs nett in the whole week but has done around 1.25 crore nett this weekend as shows increased. The film is from Kerala and the only history of dubbed Malayalam films doing well at in Hindi are sex / titillation films in the 80's. It remains to be seen how Marco goes. As far as Baby John goes it will not be doing much business from here on. The collections of Baby John till date are as follows.
