Jaat has bought some respite to this beleaguered film industry as it heads towards a 9-10 crore nett opening day. This looked pretty much impossible when the advances started on Thusday afternoon but the film has seen a solid response in current from the morning shows. The response to Sikandar was a huge downer and when a film like that fails so badly its not a good sign for a film like Jaat which is in the same zone but the initial of Jaat is a positive.

In terms of numbers it will actually be the second highest opening ever for Sunny Deol after Gadar 2 but that is just in relative numbers as he had many bumper openings in the eighties, nineties and after with Jaat is no where near in comparison to those films. But in todays time the double digit number has become a task for the mid level budget films, in fact any type of opening has become task outside sequels and the mega budget films.

The biggest positive for Jaat is that momentum is on its side as the scenario at the moment is far better than when the advances opened as then looked like another film that is going to find to hard to get initial collections and that to in the action genre. Jaat has actually done good business in places like Rajasthan and UP and a few others on the strength of the smaller centres and single screens. But even the circuits which will put good numbers still have potential as the bigger multiplexes can do better be it UP or Rajasthan.

The film is going to have a very low ratio of business from the national chains as advances started late here and also the business in the metros and bigger multiplexes is not good. If the final number comes in a little short of 10 crore nett then it will be down to the metros. There is potential for improvement here especially on Saturday and if that happens then the film will be pretty certain to get a run. The Mumbai and Pune types dont matter much but if the film can push on Saturday in the bigger multiplexes in a Surat or Nagpur it will be a huge positive for a good run.

The film will face a drop on Friday but its all about where the film will go on Saturday and Sunday and it will be those two days that will probably decide the fate of the film.
