Sitaare Zameen Par has seen a fantastic hold on Monday as it collected 8.50 crore dropping only 20% from the first day. The mass appeal of the film is limited which makes this hold better and this ensures the film is a HIT and with good chances to do better. The total collections of the film stand at  65 crore nett after four days and the film will be looking at week 85-90 crore nett.

The film is not going with discounted rates on Tuesday which is a positive and at least the industry is getting this right as its a must if the film is working to at least hold off discounted rates in week one and even week two if numbers remain high enough. Both Raid 2 and now Taare Zaameen Par have gone this way and the latter is actually distributed by PVR who initiated this scheme which itself tells the story and not much needs to be said. There is a small segment in the industry thinking films are not doing well because of ticket pricing and this thinking has to go away.

The issue is content and for pricing its the concessions and the ones who have indulged in feeding which is most of the industry will know this as their free tickets were refused by people as they knew a trip would mean heavy concession spends. 

Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par its a fantastic and now its about where the second Friday lands and although there is a huge flow of releases this film can continue to compete with them due to this hold on Monday. The film continues to do excellent business in NCR though western pockets like Mumbai and Pune have dropped more. The film is going to fare betetr in North than Mumbai circuit.  The four day numbers of Sitaare Zameen Par are as follows.
