Sitaare Zameen Par is seeing huge growth on Saturday and the sort which has not been seen in a long time. The film should hit the 20 crore nett mark which is a 90% jump and it could even be more as multiplexes across the country see a similar trend though in the smaller circuits they are coming off very low levels.

This growth ensures the film will emerge a success and although growth will not be huge on Sunday it will consolidate this number so a 50 crore nett weekend is there for the film and it could go to around 55 crore nett. Then its all on the Monday as this growth on Saturday means the film is sure to hold but what levels and that hold will determine where the film will go.

A good jump on Sunday in the likes of Maharashtra, UP and Bihar may mean that the film can even run in these parts on low levels. The weekend will be an excellent one for the the type of film it is but it it will still have a long way to go to get a number which will justify a star from the top rung. It is probably the first time post pandemic that the industry is jubilant after a success even though there have been far bigger successes.

The difference here will be that this type of content is easier for the industry to churn out and its easier to aim for this audience rather than the Hindi mass audience which turns up for a KGF 2, Gadar 2 or Pushpa 2. The only thing similar Sitaare Zameen Par has with these films is that its also a part 2 without the 2 in it. Now it remains to be seem if this feel good factor in the industry right now gets the production sector moving at a faster rate.
