Sitaare Zameen Par has picked up well on the first day as it heads for a double digit  number when the collections looked like heading for a 8-9 crore nett in when the film opened. This is a good number for the zone of film though the film is aided by various discounted offers on delivery apps and bookings from schools but this sort of of thing has basically become the norm with almost every film to push collections.

The film is looking at a huge ratio of business from the national chains especially PVR Inox and this normally happens for an Aamir Khan film but here the ratio has gone up a notch. Saturday was certain for growth and this improvement on Friday can help to push this growth further and this will ensure a good weekend for the film. Also as the film is for that metro audience and Saturday is always strong for content aimed at this audience.

The given Saturday growth will give the film a chance to work and the positive here for the industry will be that a pre pandemic type of film which has nothing much for the core Hindi audience can still do something at the box office as much of these have taken a beating at the box office. There is a still a long journey for success but the film is in a much better position at the end of day one then where it was when advances opened.
