Carry On Jatta 2 has created history by becoming the highest opener of all time in terms of collections for the Punjabi film industry. The film is heading for a 3 CRORE GROSS plus opening day across India and this is the first time this mark will be crossed in the industry.

The opening should also be the highest ever in terms of NETT collections but that will be a closer run thing. Also NETT collections are not a good judge anymore for Punjabi films as the tax change has meant NETT business go down by a lot.

The industry has been hit badly by a few big budget films which were experimental and on top GST bringing business down. But back to traditional mass comedy which has always been historically the best bet for Punjabi cinema since it started outside religious films and the numbers have come.

The GST factor made a 2 crore nett plus total in East Punjab a big ask but it seems this film will cross that mark and give the Punjabi film industry a big kick start that was needed.
