The new release this week Jugjugg Jeeyo is looking at decent advance results which are likely to be similar to Gangubai Kathiawadi. The advance is better than Gangubai Kathiawadi in the premium multiplexes especially in the North but lesser in others. The advance is also easily better than the last big release Samrat Prithviraj but that does not mean a better opening day as Samrat Prithviraj opened better in places which dont open advance.

The advance will mean that Jugjugg Jeeyo will get some sort of start to go on from depending on the content. The film is looking at good opening day numbers in Delhi NCR and could even challenge Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in Delhi / Gurgaon / Noida. The other big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore etc should also see good to decent numbers.

The Hindi belt circuits will find it tougher as the film has a more urban feel and the humour will be such also but the film is not such a huge film that it needs these also to show big numbers. If the bigger centres fire for the film that should be enough.

This film would have been a sure shot hit before the pandemic on this sort of advance but post the pandemic there has not been a success which has not reached out to the wider mass audience. This could be because the major cities have a lesser audience as a big chunk is waiting for movies on streaming or it could be the films released post the pandemic targetting the big centres were just not good enough.

If Jugjugg Jeeyo was to succeed it would be a big boost to the industry as many films in the six months will have a similar audience profile. Going by the advance the opening is going to give the film a chance and then its about the merits of the film.

The best news for the film are the advances overseas especially in the western markets of UK, US and Australia. The film is looking at a good opening in oveseas and if the content works it could be up there among the top grossers overseas post the pandemic. The advance is far bigger than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in overseas.
