Laal Singh Chaddha fell 40% on Saturday as it collected in the 7-7.25 crore nett range to take its two day total to 18.50 crore nett. The fall is normal after a holiday but the problem here is that the film did not manage to get opening day collections which pretty much means the film cannot really recover.

It was always going to need a miracle after the first day and show a strong hold on day two and these holds are difficult in th best of times. The film has faced total rejection in mass pockets as collections fall 50-55% in some circuits and these circuits have the advantage of an extended holiday period post Raksha Bandhan.

There have been huge falls in places like Gujarat and CI which puts into question whether the film can get any advantage of Independence Day as mass pockets drive business on the big holiday. The state of UP is always strong the day after Raksha Bandhan and this film has has made gains but they are pretty minimal. 

The Delhi NCR and East Punjab area continues to drive the business of the film but it has dropped there also. It is pretty certain that the film will do  better business in Delhi / UP than Mumbai circuit and they way Gujarat is going it would no shock if the eventual collections in East Punjab are not far off the Mumbai circuit number.
