Kalki 2898 AD is looking at phenomenal hold on Monday as it collects around the 16 crore nett range which will be a drop of around 20% from the first day. it takes the film to 124 crore nett apprx and this hold means a huge run and the film could go anywhere. The film is a wide release and the trend is one that is expected from a small film which works with Monday being close to day one.

The first week collections should go to around 160 crore nett which compares well with the 132 crore nett of RRR (hindi) though that was for seven days while here it will be an eight day week. The Monday figures will be similar to RRR (Hindi) which was around 16.50 crore nett after a three day weekend.

The release next week Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has been postponed which was always on the cards as Kalki 2898 AD ran riot on Sunday with huge collections all over.  This will leave Kalki 2898 AD with an open run in all mass markets as the release left Kill is a niche film.

The success and likely run of this film is much needed and it has all chances to prove the first BLOCKBUSTER of the year. It would mean a great June for the film industry as the two biggest HITS of the year Munjya and Kalki 2898 AD are June release. One in the first week and the other coming in the last week.
