The advances of Housefull 5 which opened on Saturday is still looking for some momentum as they remain on the slow side for a film like this. If this was not a franchise film then these advances would be okay but more is expected of franchise films. The national chain advances stand at 24k on Wednesday morning while advances for non nationals are a little better but still cant be called good.

The 1 lakh mark at national chains would have been a given for this film but at present it does not look easy and it does look the best case scenario and it all be down to Thursday when the film is sure to run faster. The film has two versions with this A and B thing and no doubt this is not helping the advances. This will go out of the equation when there is booking at the counter as then bookings will be on show time and will not matter which version is playing.

Housefull 4 released pre pandemic opened at around 17 crore nett and that was pre Diwali and here on these advances the opening day does not look much better but it does not take much to change this. There is still the most important days of advances to come and then even more important will be current.

No doubt there will be growth on Saturday as its a holiday and its the family audiences which have made the film a franchise and generally this audience comes after the opening day. This is why the franchise has run post the opening day but it will need some sort of opening day number to set a platform for the weekend.
