Housefull 5 advance has finished with around 5.50 crore nett up on the board with 94k chains tickets sold at the national chains contributing almost half of the business in terms of the nett total. The comparisons today are pretty much pointless due to feeding and manufactured advances by many films which makes the comparables not correct. Housefull 5 has a clean record on this account.

The advances are middling and the momentum on the last day was better but cant really be called good. The film has two versions in Housefull A and Housefull B which has affected the advances as it creates confusion otherwise it would have surely got over 1 lakh not that 1 lakh is a good total for a film like Housefull 5. Basically its because its an established sequel that these advances seem less.

But the franchise has never really taken a big advance before and generally worked in current and post the first day and it should be the same this time. Despite these advances the film should manage a good weekend helped the Eid holiday on Saturday though if this was on Friday it would have really helped. There is no standout market with even a comedy strong circuit like Gujarat being below the mark but it should fire over the weekend or has to fire if the film is to work.

The biggest positive for the film are the overseas numbers which puts it in line for the biggest opening ever for Akshay Kumar in overseas centres. The advances are generally the best of the year in most of the circuits and this is not normal for a comedy film so this is a big positive for India which will be playing catch up and because of the genre should catch up. The overseas initial is going to suggest that the India opening should have better but its the India market which matters most and these advances are good enough for a platform but the film will have a lot of work to over the weekend and after.
