Avatar 2 is seeing the fastest advance in history as it had already collected 10 crore nett by close of business on Monday night and this is ten days before release. Dr Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness hit 10 crore nett nine days before release. The opening of advance weeks before release only started post the pandemic. 

The record advance is 65 crore nett of Avengers Endgame with 50 crore nett of this coming from the Hindi circuits which till date it is a record for Hindi circuits ahead of KGF 2. The Avatar 2 numbers are unlikely to reach these totals as its unlikely to get the sales in the Hindi circuits that Avengers Endgame did but in South it could surpass. If on advance it is a little short then on day one it could create history in South by beating the numbers of Avengers - Engame and have the highest numbers for day one for a non South film. Nizam / Andhra looks near certain for a record.

It is difficult to tell this early whether the film can challenge the Avengers Endgame all India number of 53 crore nett plus but if it was like South across the board then it would sail past but for the Hindi states Avatar 2 is not like an Avengers Endgame which is good v evil action extravangaza and despite the craze there are areas where it will work like a word of mouth film.  

The film is almost certain to be the second highest opener for Hollywood in India but there is a huge gap between Avengers Endgame which was 53 crore nett and Spiderman - No Way Home which was 33 crore nett. Wherever it lands it is going to be a huge start as all the other big openers are Marvel films and in India they have a huge fan base and a ready day one crowd and front loaded films.

A lot will depend on how the advance will more next week and how the craze for the film builds in the last few days befor release. At this present  time advance stands at around 33% of the final advance of Spiderman - No Way Home but there are eight full days left so on the face of it there should be no issues of crossing the advance of Spiderman - No Way Home.
