Sikandar advances at the national chains are yet to reach with 1 lakh as they reach 89k and with a 26k start they should have been well over a 1 lakh by now but the last two days have not seen the sales they should have. Day four is the best so far but it should have been much better. The results over the last two days have meant that offers have come for the film to prop up the initial which is not a good sign.
At the end of the day the results dont really change with the offers and a Eid film is dependent on how the Eid crowd finds the film. The box office run of Salman Khan started with a dud opener in Wanted in 2009 which picked up with the Eid crowd post release despite being in action genre. Here the initial was not going to be a dud like Wanted or the recent Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan or Bade Miyan Chote Miyan so the chance of a good run is possible especially over Eid if the film has something.
The film has sold 1.75 lakh tickets across India after four days. The final day needs that push of 1 lakh tickets at the national chains for the film to have a shot at a 30 crore nett first day which would be a good first day but not great. The momentum over the last two days does not suggest 1 lakh can happen but these offers on such a big film may give it the aid needed for the film to get an advance in the 1.75-2 lakh range which is a decent result though its should have really been 2.5 lakh or more. The first four day advances of Sikandar at national multiplex chains are as follows.
Day One - 26,000
Day Two - 20,000
Day Three - 12,000
Day Four - 31,000
TOTAL - 89,000
